- To maintain harmonious
industrial relation between employer and employees.
- Enforcement of various
provisions of different Labour Laws such as Minimum Wages Act. Payment
of Wages Act, Orissa Shops & Commercial Establishment Act, Contract
Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, Inter State Migrant Workmen (RE
&CS) Act, payment of Bonus
Act, Equal Remuneration Act, Beedi & Cigar Workers (CE) Act, Child
Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act, Motor Transport Workers Act,
Orissa Industrial Establishment (National & Festival) Holidays Act,
Industrial Disputes Act.
The following achievements were
made by this office during this year:-
a)
Rs.7184701.00 was
paid to 1925 workers by disposing 121 nos. of complaints.
b)
10 nos. of
industrial disputes were taken up out of which 5 nos. were settled and 3
cases ended in failure.
c)
118 nos. of
prosecutions have been filed in the court under various labour laws against
the defaulting employers for violation of different provisions of labour
laws.
d)
11 nos. of claim
cases have also been filed for non-payment of legal dues amounting to
Rs.554331.00 for 100 workers and 11 nos. of claim cases filed in the Court
towards less payment of Rs. 41177.50 to 240 workers upto 30.06.2006.
