Science Centre Dhenkanal
Dhenkanal Science Centre is one of the nation-wide units of National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), an autonomous organization working under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. It aims to inculcate scientific temper, foster spirit of enquiry, portray the recent developments of science and technology and help people delve mysteries of science. It is the first district level Science Centre established in Odisha. It was inaugurated and dedicated to the people of Odisha on 5th June, 1995 by Shri Madhavrao Scindia, the then Hon’ble Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Govt. of India in the presence of Brig. K.P. Singh Deo, AVSM, Hon’ble Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India. The Centre has three Science Galleries and a Science Park full of interactive exhibits to learn science through fun. Apart from this 3D Movie Shows, Taramandal Shows, Sky Observation Programmes and Live Science demonstration shows etc. are being conducted regularly in the Centre to supplement learning of science through fun. For those from far flung places who cannot visit our Centre, we are running Mobile Science Exhibition Bus filled with interactive portable exhibits mounted in a Bus throughout the year in rural schools of different districts of Odisha.
